COURSE LIMIT & TRAIL ETIQUETTE

 The course limit for the 18 mile run is 5 hours, which is 16:40 per mile. Racers must make it to the following trail head aid stations by the following times:

TRAIL BRIDGE, Mile 8 - 11:15 am

DEER CREEK, Mile 13 - 12:40 pm

BUCK BRIDGE, Mile 16.5 - 1:35 pm


Participants who do not make it to these locations by the cut off times will be pulled from the course and driven back to the finish line. 



HALF MARATHON & 5M

The course time limit for the half marathon is 4 hours. The course limit for the 5 Mile is 1.5 hours.




Hot Springs Trail Runs, hosted by Pink Buffalo Productions LLC, operates under a special use permit with USDA Willamette National Forest, and is an equal opportunity outdoor recreation service provider.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
The 18 mile race starts at Carmen Reservoir and has about a quarter mile on hard packed dirt. Then, the course merges onto Waterfall Trail. About a mile later, past Koosah Falls and Sahalie Falls, the course goes over a footbridge and proceeds south on McKenzie Trail to Belknap Hot Springs, Lodge & Garden. The first three miles are highly technical.  


HALF MARATHON
Start at Trail Bridge Trail Head, pass Belknap to a short turn around and finish at Belknap Hot Springs Lodge & Garden. 

5 MILE
Start at Deer Creek Trail Head and finish at Belknap Hot Springs Lodge & Garden.


The 5 Mile event is on McKenzie River Trail next to the McKenzie River. Both events finish at Belknap Hot Springs Lodge & Gardens.

AID STATIONS
Aid stations have water, Gatorade, KIND Snacks, GU energy gels (chocolate & vanilla), PBJ sandwiches, BBQ chips, salt caps, hard candy, toilets and First Aid kits. (Mileage below is approximate)
